Othandweni Family Care Centre
This care center is based in Mofolo south Soweto. It was established in 1984 and is occupied by 90 children who have been abused and abandoned or neglected. It serves as a place of safety and love for children in the Soweto area. Children are placed here until suitable homes are found by either adoptions or foster care departments. In the Soweto area, children are neglected and a growing number of AIDS/HIV+ babies are in desperate need of a shelter special care for them.
30 children are attending a day care center such as a creche, and the remainder of the children attend primary and high school.
